Bursts of random inspiration

Maybe I will explicate more on this thought later, but listening to Dr. Sandgren's lecture made me think of this:

Whether one be a radical extremo Turlington preacher, or a lovey-dovey hug-everyone Liberal Lives Christian, one uniform shape that every heretic (for the lack of a better word) takes is that he or she minimizes the power of God demonstrated through the atoning death of Christ. The only difference is that the former is driven by a legalistic downplay of sovereign grace, and the latter by a somewhat "lol" kind of thinking. According to the Scripture, both philosophies are misguided. The so-called 'Christian' efforts to 'moralize' society using political platforms are wrong, as is the popular collegiate slogan, "zomg, tolerance of all." When one undermines the agony, the humiliation, and most of all the foul excrement of sinful human souls that crept up our Lord's heart as the Father forsook His most beloved treasure, one has abandoned the essence of the Christian faith.

"For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." - 1 Cor. 1:18
