Peace and rain... of Grace

Please do not take anything for granted this holiday season. Take time to reflect on your daily, seemingly insignificant blessings. I've been indirectly forced to do so many times this semester, because many people close to me faced adversities of many kind. My hard heart has softened more because of this ever-present vulnerability of my human flesh... and that vulnerability brings me back to the throne of Grace at the end of every day.

So friends, let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, and let us sing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

When I survey the wondrous cross
on which the Prince of Glory died;
my richest gain I count but loss,
and pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
save in the death of Christ, my God;
all the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to his blood.

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
that were an offering far too small;
love so amazing, so divine,
demands my soul, my life, my all.

P.S. Please pray for Ashley Ann Groves. She got hit by a car today while she was on a scooter and landed under another car. It can't be but the Lord's doing that He preserved her life, and I am grateful to Him as that is an immense relief for all of us. Pray for her leg surgery that will be taking place tonight. She broke her leg, fractured a vertebrae and broke the bones under her right eye. The doctors are unsure whether her eye will be okay or not, because she is still unconscious. Pray that her recovery will testify to the reality of Christ in her life, to the doctors and nurses, to her family, Christ's body, and the world.

Lord, how we thank You.
