Crisp Virginian morning
And yet another day
Jealous winds bite the pinks;
Flutter-bys brush by
Spring dances on the concrete;
And the road bustles with anticipation.
Halt, jamborees!
As sudden gunshots ring the ears.
Icy coldness overwhelms the air --
Reason faints inside
To leave lifeless
Meticulously
Pleas, bloodcovered
Fail to haunt a heart
Thirty-three smiles part, bathed in red,
Forever and a half mile apart.
The films resume;
A whim of carefree traffic
Trapped in blissful frustration.

I never completed this poem on that day... now it is complete, but some people never got to complete theirs.
