The fruit of Eve

Re: Romans 1:19-20; existence of the universal moral law confirmed in parenting today. (Or the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil.) Gloria has what we call a “disobedient noise,” a sound which she makes whenever she is about to do something she was told not to do. It is a short whiny sound with a bit of an attitude.

Today, I had finished nursing and had sat down to read a book to both children. I sat down next to Peter and asked Gloria to sit down next to me so that I could read to both of them. Gloria refused, and wanted me to read only to her. I sat in between them and proceeded to read to both of them. Then I hear her make her disobedient noise.

Gloria: Euuugh! *throws the book she was holding at Peter*

I suppose she knew violence triggered by jealousy was something wrong to do, although I had never told her that.  Nor do I think she fully understands her own actions.

It is sad that murder dwells in every human heart, even as one as little as hers.

[Thankfully, Peter was not hurt.]
