Health Insurance

After 10 minutes of researching health insurance, I've decided that they are all slimeballs.

Another reason why Korea is simply better

I'm only half-joking, ok?

  1. Oohhh do I agree with you. Well I may not agree with much of the current craziness going on in politics(both sides!), I definitely think we need to get with the times in health care...more and more it's been bothering me about how corporations and insurance companies take advantage of people...and while I don't think it's the government's job to totally "take care of people", I sure as anything think it's their job to protect people from extortion. And you can quote me on that. ;) I want to move to Korea!!!

  2. Finally got a chance to finish that article. It left me with a lot of questions, really.

How did Korea mandate health care for small organizations without interfering with their viability?

Is the base cost of health care equal in Korea and the US?

How are people, as it says in the end of the article, aware that over-utilization will cost them in the long run? This foresight cannot be taken for granted in the US.

How do Korean taxes compare with those in the US? With the government insuring 20% of the population, expenditures must be huge.

What are "medical insurance societies" and how do they differ from insurance corporations here in the US?

Does Korean medical care have the concept of networks or do all societies have equal cost at all health providers?

Without answering these questions, I feel like the article isn't that enlightening on our current situation in the US. :-/

  3. Oh golly.

I will need to read up on my Korean socioeconomic, political policies to answer those questions.

Or maybe you can learn Korean and talk to my parents instead. They would know much more than me on these matters.

Which will take less time? Me finding these crazy things to read (most likely in Korean) or you learning Korean?
