Autumn nocturne

It almost gives me shivers to think of how things have changed. As I watch the old faiths go by, I become more and more convinced that I should rely more on God's sovereignty.

I get sad, yeah, but who knows? Perhaps God will be gracious and spare them after all.

Guised in Dusk

Was it all a masquerade?
Underneath innocence, charms of a fallen angel
Behind the silver screen,
Wiry fingers stained with acoustic rust

But I shiver.
Arduous labor -- life's but one essence,
Godhead joined to a harlot
Soul arrested alongside a black heart.

Amidst the saints' weeping, a silent prayer ring.
Push aside the betrayals and fill with charity
Then when the autumn nocturne sets, goodnight rock.

  1. God is a merciful and gracious God. But He is also just.

And you are a good poet. :)

  2. Thanks -- I can be as critical as I want and still make it cryptic enough so people don't notice. :-P
