The Word of God vs. the words of men

I've been thinking recently about how weak human words are.  Be it the wisest human teacher, his words cannot compare to the beauty and the power of God's Word.

Yet it may seem easier to us temporarily to read a book, an article or a blog post written about God's Word than to study the Word for ourselves.  But these things, though many of them worked by God, can never give the encouragement like the Word Himself.  Only God's words will encourage you to magnify His name to the fullest.  The Holy Spirit is the wisest teacher and the Messiah is the kindest friend... The full meal is ready and waiting yet we would rather regurgitate what others already have nourished on.

May we long for the pure milk of the Word!  If these words made you feel guilty in the slightest degree, my point is proven (not in the "I am correct" kind of sense, but in the sense that my words cannot give you rest).  May the eternal Word Himself give you rest from the words of mere men.

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I  will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matt. 11:28-30)
