God's faithfulness and Dream's dream come true

Let's talk about how cool God is today.

I feel like singing Psalm 139 right now.

"O LORD, You have searched me and known me.

You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
You understand my thought from afar.

You scrutinize my path and my lying down,
And are intimately acquainted with all my ways.

Even before there is a word on my tongue,
Behold, O LORD, You know it all."

Seven months ago, my husband and I were about to move to Melbourne. We were sad to leave our church in Gainesville, Creekside Community Church, and were rather unsettled about finding a good church in a remote town like Melbourne, since it had been difficult for us to find a good church in Tampa. I then recall telling David my dreams about the church we were magically going to find:

"I want to attend a cute, small, southern Baptist church. People there will love us and take a good care of us because we are a newly married couple with a little baby. They will also be hardcore."

Seven months later, that describes our church exactly. A small, southern Baptist church full of loving people who are ultra-serious about the Word.

I had forgotten, however, one other remark I had made:

"They will hold potlucks. And we will eat very southern food--like fried chicken."

You may wonder where I am going with this...

Well, our church is holding a potluck two weeks from now, which I am really excited about.

... and the main course is fried chicken.

[He didn't miss a single word I said!]

"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!" - Matt 7:11
