What a great title for the New Year's post, huh?
But in all seriousness, Not Even a Hint makes me think a lot about the godly way to embrace our sexuality -- and subsequently, our humanity. Lust is a sin that so powerfully ensnares every modern, but it is also a sin so casually dismissed and most often unaddressed.
As I eagerly compose a pridelist of things to feel self-righteous, as I am tempted to appease my carnal desires in action and thoughts, as I walk the narrow path between legalism and lawlessness that is the road to Calvary, I look into the eyes of Christ. Those sinless eyes which bore this gutter of self-righteousness, pride and vain conceit, greed, jealousy, lust, covetousness, hypocrisy and selfishness -- of all the filthy human excretion of guilt and shame.
He bore it all and was forsaken by the Father, so that I might have Life.
Help me to walk the plank, trusting on Your grace alone.
