Despite the popular opinion that professing atheists are more intelligent, more reasonable, more open-minded, and more loving than the religious people, I am seldom impressed by them.
Looking back on my brief life and the people I've met along the way, those who were most kind when correcting, most peace-seeking and merciful when rebuking, most humbly and sincerely open to reason, and overall more deeply in-touch with the human condition, were more often than not professing "born-again Christians."
I hope and pray that I am cultivating these same characteristics.
