A brief life update

I never write a "life update" on here. But I guess it's not too late to start.

This past week has been good in the fullest sense of the word. Coming off bedrest was very exhausting the first two days. Then my metabolism kicked in on Wednesday. Praise God for the strength of the youth. I am happy to be alive, to serve my husband and to take care of my household, to go on a walk, to feel the glory of the early morning breeze on my skin and to relish smell of the freshly cut grass.

The three weeks of confinement were a most blessed time. I'd never been so helplessly dependent on the love, prayers and generosity of others. It was a humbling time, physically being forced to seek after my child's welfare rather than my own. It was also humbling due to selfless love of many towards me, who did nothing to deserve such love. Friends and family drove here from distant cities to love and serve me, people whom I have never seen before brought us dinners, and many sent cards of blessings and prayed for us. As He provided for Elijah through the mouth of the ravens, so He provided even more generous amounts for us. How good is our Father to His undeserving children!

During the confinement, I was driven to read the Word more (not because I wanted to, but there literally was not much else to do!), and it was a blessing to me. I also was most blessed by everyone's prayers, because I had an abiding peace during most of it (though occasionally, my flesh groaned and grumbled). I thank you for praying for me, if you are reading this.

Moving onto more recent matters--if you are wondering what my present life consists of, I can tell you that there's not too much action. I wake up as the sun rises in the morning. I make David's lunch, we have breakfast together, and I go on my morning walk as he leaves for work. Upon my return, I shower and have my time with the Lord. The rest of the day consists of random house management, such as cleaning, bookkeeping, doing laundry, and whatever else needs my attention. I have been able to catch up with many dear friends this past week, which gave me great joy. This morning I wrote to a friend, and after lunch, I read the Book of Revelation while listening to Bach and Bizet (which, I highly recommend).

Today is one of David's early Fridays. I am cooking dinner for the first time in a month, and I am really excited (bean burgers & fries!). I thank God for giving me the joy of working with my hands. I am also looking forward to meeting our daughter Gloria soon (she is so close and yet so far).

May you have a blessed day.

"And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, 'KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.'" - Revelation 19:11-16
